Terms of Service

Effective date: 10 June 2026

These Terms govern your use of thedwire.com ("The D Wire") and regentwire.com ("Regent Wire") (together, the "Sites"), operated by WhiteStone Intelligence, a sole-proprietor publisher based in Mumbai, India ("we", "us"). By using the Sites, subscribing to our newsletters, or purchasing a subscription, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Sites.

Contact: hello@thedwire.com (The D Wire) · desk@regentwire.com (Regent Wire).

1. What we provide

The Sites are independent news and intelligence publications. We publish articles, briefings, and email newsletters. Some content is free; some is reserved for paying subscribers ("paid tiers"). We may change, add, or retire features and coverage areas at any time; if a change materially reduces what a paid subscriber receives, Section 4 (refunds) applies.

2. Accounts

To access member features you must create an account with a valid email address and keep your password confidential. You are responsible for activity under your account. You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority where you live) to create an account or purchase a subscription. Notify us immediately at the contact addresses above if you suspect unauthorized use of your account.

3. Subscriptions, billing, and cancellation

Plans. Paid tiers are offered on monthly or annual billing cycles at the prices shown at checkout. Prices are stated inclusive or exclusive of applicable taxes as indicated at checkout.

Auto-renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period at the then-current price for your plan, until you cancel. Before you purchase, the checkout shows the renewal price, billing frequency, and how to cancel, and asks for your express consent to these renewal terms separately from the purchase itself. We will notify you in advance of any price increase, and annual subscribers receive a renewal reminder before each renewal.

Cancel anytime. You may cancel at any time online — through your account page or the cancellation link included in billing emails — with no phone calls, no retention hurdles, and no additional steps beyond those used to sign up. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period; you keep access until then. (California subscribers: this online cancellation mechanism is provided in the same medium as signup, as required by California's automatic-renewal law.)

Refunds. Except where the law requires otherwise, payments are non-refundable once a billing period has begun; cancelling stops future charges. If we materially reduce a paid tier mid-period or permanently shut a Site down, we will refund the unused portion of prepaid fees pro rata.

EU/EEA and UK consumers — 14-day withdrawal right. If you are a consumer in the EU/EEA or UK, you have the right to withdraw from your subscription within 14 days of purchase without giving a reason, for a full refund. Please note: at checkout we ask whether you want immediate access to paid content. If you expressly request immediate access and acknowledge that you thereby lose your 14-day withdrawal right once performance begins, the withdrawal right is extinguished to the extent the service has been delivered. If you do not request immediate access, your paid access begins after the 14-day period (or you may withdraw within it by emailing us).

Payment processing. Payments are handled by our payment provider; card details never touch our servers. By subscribing you also agree to the provider's terms applicable to the payment transaction.

4. Licence to our content

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to read, stream, and make incidental private copies of Site content for personal, non-commercial use.

You may share links to our articles and quote brief excerpts with attribution and a link. You may not, without our prior written licence: (a) republish, sell, or syndicate our content; (b) systematically scrape, crawl, harvest, or bulk-download the Sites or newsletters; (c) use our content, in whole or in part, to train, fine-tune, ground, or evaluate machine-learning or AI models, or include it in datasets for those purposes; (d) remove attribution or copyright notices; or (e) circumvent paywalls or access controls. Licensing enquiries: the contact addresses above.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to: interfere with or disrupt the Sites or their infrastructure; probe or test vulnerabilities without permission; misrepresent your identity to us; share paid-tier credentials beyond your household; use the Sites for unlawful purposes; or post (where commenting or submission features exist) content that is unlawful, defamatory, infringing, or abusive. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, with pro-rata refund of prepaid fees where the violation is not serious or deliberate.

6. Not professional advice

Our content is journalism and general information, not professional advice. Nothing on the Sites or in our newsletters is investment, financial, trading, legal, tax, accounting, or other professional advice, and nothing constitutes a recommendation or solicitation to buy or sell any security or asset. Do not act on our reporting without consulting a qualified professional who knows your situation. We work hard to be accurate, but we do not warrant that content is complete, current, or error-free — see our Corrections Policy (Section 8).

7. Copyright complaints (DMCA and equivalent)

We respect intellectual property rights. If you believe content on the Sites infringes your copyright, send a notice to hello@thedwire.com or desk@regentwire.com with the subject "Copyright notice", including: (a) identification of the copyrighted work; (b) the URL of the allegedly infringing material; (c) your contact details; (d) a statement of good-faith belief that the use is unauthorized; (e) a statement, under penalty of perjury, that the notice is accurate and you are the rights holder or authorized to act; and (f) your physical or electronic signature. We review notices promptly, remove or disable access to material where appropriate, and may notify the affected author. Misrepresentations in notices may carry legal liability (e.g., 17 U.S.C. § 512(f)).

8. Corrections and grievances

Our Corrections Policy (published on each Site) explains how we fix errors: corrections are noted prominently at the top of the corrected article, remain permanently, and are logged. Our Grievance Officer (the founder of WhiteStone Intelligence) can be reached at the contact addresses above with the subject "Grievance"; we aim to resolve grievances within 15 days, in line with applicable Indian rules.

9. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The Sites are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement, to the maximum extent permitted by law.

To the maximum extent permitted by law: (a) we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, or trading or investment losses, arising from your use of the Sites or reliance on content; and (b) our total aggregate liability for all claims arising out of or relating to the Sites or these Terms is limited to the greater of (i) the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose, or (ii) INR 8,000 (approximately USD 100).

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded by law — including liability for fraud, or the mandatory rights of consumers under the law of their country of residence. If you are a consumer, you retain all protections granted by the mandatory consumer-protection laws of your home jurisdiction, and nothing in these Terms (including Section 11) takes them away.

10. Indemnity

If you are a business user, or you use the Sites in breach of Section 4 or 5, you agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims, losses, and reasonable legal costs arising from that use or breach. This clause does not apply to consumers where prohibited by applicable law.

11. Governing law and disputes

These Terms, and any dispute arising out of or relating to them or the Sites, are governed by the laws of India, and the courts at Mumbai, India have exclusive jurisdiction — except that: (a) if you are a consumer, you keep the benefit of any mandatory consumer-protection rules, and any right to sue or be sued in the courts, of your country of habitual residence; and (b) either party may bring eligible claims in a small-claims court (or local equivalent) of competent jurisdiction. Before filing any claim, please contact us — most issues can be resolved quickly and informally by email.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will update the effective date above, and for material changes we will give subscribers reasonable advance notice by email or prominent notice on the Sites. If you continue using the Sites after changes take effect, you accept the updated Terms; if you do not accept a material change to a paid tier, you may cancel and receive a pro-rata refund of the unused prepaid period.

13. Miscellaneous

If any provision of these Terms is held unenforceable, the rest remain in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms; we may assign them in connection with a transfer of the publication, with notice to you. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and Corrections Policy, are the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Sites.
